Senior System Engineer (Go) - Metal Platform

Surfshark is building a platform that orchestrates software deployment across its entire server fleet.

• Strong Go programming skills with a track record of shipping production backend services
• Solid knowledge of Linux internals including kernel boot, initramfs, and networking stack
• Comfortable with modern cryptographic primitives and authentication building blocks such as mTLS, OIDC, and signature schemes
• Security-first mindset with understanding of threat models, key rotation, and blast radius

Nice to have:

• Experience with hardware roots of trust or measured boot
• Experience shipping supply-chain primitives like reproducible builds, SBOMs, and artifact attestation
• Experience using formal-methods tools to reason about protocols or systems

• Design and build Go services for fleet-wide deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management
• Work on the Linux image and boot path used by servers in the fleet
• Contribute to the cryptographic protocols and machine-attestation work behind the platform
• Help keep the system's security properties verifiable as it evolves
