Senior Java Engineer

• 5+ years commercial experience as a Java engineer with backend system design expertise.
• Strong proficiency in Java (recent versions) and the Spring ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience with Temporal.io or similar workflow orchestration frameworks.
• Solid experience with Azure services: App Service, Key Vault, Graph API, networking, and DevOps Pipelines.
• Practical knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose for containerized development.
• Strong SQL and MSSQL skills including schema design, querying, and optimization.
• Solid understanding of OAuth2 authentication/authorization patterns.
• Experience with Spock/Groovy for testing or willingness to adopt.
• Simplicity-first mindset focusing on clarity and minimalism.
• Goal-driven execution understanding task purpose.
• Surgical approach to changes respecting conventions.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent English for effective international collaboration.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Databricks and Unity Catalog concepts.
• Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Background in data governance, access management, or enterprise data platform engineering.
• Experience in large-scale, multi-tenant enterprise environments.

• Designing and building robust, production-grade Java APIs and backend services using Java 25 and Spring.
• Implementing and maintaining workflow orchestration with Temporal.io for long-running process management.
• Working with Azure services including App Service, Key Vault, Graph API, networking, and DevOps Pipelines.
• Containerizing and managing services with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Designing and working with MSSQL databases ensuring data integrity and query efficiency.
• Implementing secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2.
• Writing well-structured tests using Spock and Groovy.
• Making deliberate, targeted code changes respecting existing conventions.
• Communicating clearly with technical peers and client stakeholders.
• Leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and output quality.
