Senior Business Intelligence (Power BI) Engineer

At Cloudfide, we engineer large-scale Big Data and cloud-native platforms for global clients, including Fortune 500 companies. We process massive datasets using AI, ML, MLOps, and modern data architectures within cloud ecosystems, driving impactful solutions for customer experience and data-driven decision-making.

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Power BI in enterprise environments managing large semantic models and complex requirements.
• Deep expertise in semantic model design and optimization including DAX, RLS, perspectives, and model internals.
• Proven ability to build and maintain very large semantic models under performance and governance constraints.
• Solid experience with Databricks working confidently at the data platform level.
• Mature Git practices in large projects including CI/CD pipelines, release management, automated branching and merging, and branching model knowledge (such as GitFlow).
• General knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure relevant to BI and data platform delivery.
• A comprehensive mindset across BI, data, and DevOps considering full solution lifecycle.
• Strong communication skills to interact with technical and business teams.
• Fluent English for effective collaboration across international teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Power BI Deployment Pipelines and XMLA endpoints.
• Familiarity with Tabular Editor or similar model authoring tools.
• Knowledge of dataflow and lakehouse patterns in the Microsoft Fabric / Power BI ecosystem.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for BI pipelines.
• Exposure to dbt or similar data transformation tooling upstream of semantic layers.

• Designing, building, and maintaining large-scale Power BI semantic models with attention to performance, correctness, and maintainability.
• Implementing advanced model features including Row-Level Security (RLS), perspectives, calculation groups, and model internals optimization.
• Working with Databricks for data querying, integration, and preparation for BI consumption.
• Managing Power BI solutions through Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated branching, merging strategies, and release management.
• Applying branching models suitable for enterprise BI workflows.
• Utilizing Azure cloud infrastructure for deployment, access management, and BI asset integration.
• Collaborating with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into semantic layer solutions.
• Contributing to standards, documentation, and best practices for BI development and release processes.
• Leveraging AI tools daily to enhance productivity and output quality.
