Data Engineering Lead (GCP)

• 8 to 12 years of experience in large enterprise data cloud/data hub projects
• At least 5 years working in enterprise data lake/data cloud/data hub projects
• 5+ years experience in a technical leadership role, including conceptualizing, designing, and team management
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services: BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL
• Proficient in SQL and Python
• Skilled in ETL/ELT pipeline design and orchestration
• Experience with data warehousing using BigQuery
• Strong problem-solving and crisis management abilities
• Proven leadership skills to lead and motivate large teams in a fast-paced, 24x7 environment
• Ability to guide teams, collaborate effectively, and handle challenging situations
• Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team

Nice to have:

• Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect)
• Expertise in data modelling in functional areas such as HR, Finance, Sales, Legal, Service Delivery

• Design and implement robust data pipelines and workflows using GCP Composer (Airflow), BigQuery, data quality, data lineage, metadata management, and data security
• Develop and optimize scalable data engineering solutions leveraging GCP services (Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub)
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all data processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues quickly; lead crisis management efforts to minimize impact
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions aligned with enterprise strategy
• Mentor and guide team members; provide technical leadership and support during challenging situations
• Ensure data privacy and compliance with regulations
