Lead Java Engineer

Join a high-performing team building Global Disbursements, a cutting-edge payments platform that enables customers to move funds freely and fast across the globe. The system handles supplier payments, salary credits, direct tax settlements, and multi-channel money transfers.

• At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in a technical leadership or Lead Developer role.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8+ (Java 17+ highly preferred).
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, design patterns, and industry best practices.
• Advanced, hands-on experience in software testing, specifically in designing and implementing automation frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot.
• Working understanding of RESTful microservices and APIs.
• Experience with database technologies and SQL (Oracle preferred).

Nice to have:

• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Previous experience working within or closely with a QA team.

Technical Leadership:

• Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.

Backend Development:

• Lead the design and development of robust backend services and microservices using Java 8/11/17.

Automation Strategy:

• Drive the team’s approach to automated testing, promoting best practices and implementing frameworks to optimize delivery and reduce costs.

Architectural Evolution:

• Reduce system complexity by migrating to modern integration patterns, including APIs, Kafka, and microservices.

Process Optimization:

• Oversee the enhancement of Straight-Through-Processing (STP) capabilities to ensure seamless financial operations.
