GCP Cloud/DevOps Engineer | Cloud&Engineering

Our Cloud Engineering teams design and deliver cloud projects for clients in Poland and abroad in areas including cloud development, DevOps, integration, migration, data management, and infrastructure. Deloitte is looking for a proactive GCP Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join the infrastructure team, bridging software development and operations to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.

• English language skills at B2 level or higher, effective written and verbal communication.
• Proven ability to build, containerize (Docker or Podman), and deploy applications in Java/Spring Boot (Maven/Gradle), Node.js, and Python.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience managing production environments on Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong experience provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL or MySQL) with high availability, read replicas, and backups.
• Deep understanding of container orchestration using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and serverless container deployment using Cloud Run.
• Proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Understanding of VPCs, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, Firewalls, and Private IP connectivity.
• Strong understanding of IAM roles, Workload Identity, service accounts, and cloud security best practices.
• EU Work Permit.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of German language.
• Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or Bash for automation.
• Experience managing Firestore, Bigtable, or BigQuery.
• Experience with Istio or Anthos Service Mesh.
• Experience with ArgoCD or Flux (GitOps).

Architecture & Design:

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure on GCP using Terraform.

Database Administration:

• Configure Cloud SQL instances for performance and security.
• Manage VPC peering/Private Service Connect.
• Implement disaster recovery strategies including backups and failover.

Application Packaging:

• Collaborate with developers to write and optimize Dockerfiles for Spring Boot, Node.js, and Python applications.
• Ensure efficient image layering and security scanning.

Pipeline Management:

• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for code deployment to GKE, Cloud Run, and database schema migrations.

Environment Management:

• Manage GKE cluster upgrades and node pools.
• Optimize Cloud Run service concurrency and autoscaling settings.

Reliability Engineering:

• Monitor system performance.
• Troubleshoot incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system uptime.

Cost Optimization:

• Monitor cloud usage (FinOps).
• Choose cost-effective compute and database sizing options.
