Senior Linux Administrator

Centralized Managed Support Operations (CMSO) is part of the Global Services organization that supports external customers. • 5+ years of professional work experience in the information technology field.
• Strong knowledge of Linux system administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with shell scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl).
• Working experience with ServiceNow and JIRA.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, services (DNS, DHCP), and security principles.
• Experience with configuration management tools like RedHat Satellite, Ansible, Puppet is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong English communication and collaboration skills.
• Professional certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) or similar are highly desirable.
• Ability to work on call schedule.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

System Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
• Implement OS customizations to optimize performance and meet specific requirements.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.

Scripting and Automation:

• Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, etc.) for automating routine tasks.
• Streamline system processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Create custom scripts for specific system requirements.

Cloud Integration:

• Deploy, configure, and manage Linux-based instances on cloud platforms.
• Implement and manage cloud services like virtual machines, storage, and networking.
• Optimize systems for cloud-based environments.

Security Management:

• Implement and maintain security measures for both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Conduct regular security audits and respond to incidents.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

User Account Management:

• Create, modify, and delete user accounts.
• Manage permissions and access control in both traditional and cloud environments.

Backup and Recovery:

• Develop and test backup strategies for both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Perform data recovery tasks as needed.

Networking and Integration:

• Troubleshoot basic network settings.
• Collaborate with network administrators to ensure seamless integration with cloud services.

Documentation:

• Create and maintain system documentation, including customizations and cloud configurations.
• Develop and update operational procedures for both traditional and cloud-based systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that meet business needs.
