Engineering Manager II

• 2+ years of engineering management experience
• Strong technical background with solid understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architectures
• Comfortable with backend and frontend concepts (full-stack awareness)
• Strong technical judgment to evaluate system design decisions, trade-offs, and engineering approaches
• Experience working in data-driven environments (metrics such as velocity, predictability, delivery performance)
• Skilled at building and growing teams, supporting both senior and junior engineers
• Clear, concise communicator valuing transparency and proactive risk management
• Effective stakeholder management and collaboration with cross-functional and distributed teams (including US-based partners)
• Comfortable operating in dynamic, evolving environments with dependencies across teams
• Proficient in English

• Experience in SaaS or product-driven companies
• Exposure to AI/ML-powered systems or data processing platforms
• Experience working with distributed, international teams

• Build, lead, and grow an engineering team (5–7 engineers) in Warsaw
• Define the team’s roadmap, execution strategy, and own delivery outcomes
• Ensure strong delivery predictability, including planning, estimation, and execution
• Partner with engineers on system design and technical decisions (non-coding role)
• Develop team members through 1:1s, coaching, performance management, and hiring
• Establish a strong, collaborative, and accountable team culture
• Drive high standards in execution, quality, and scalability
• Organize team processes (stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions) and track progress
• Collaborate with product and partner teams to scope initiatives and align on priorities
• Manage cross-team dependencies and coordinate with stakeholders across regions
• Proactively identify risks and ensure transparency in delivery
• Represent Box internally and externally
