Engineering Manager - AI & GenAI

Netguru is a consultancy, product design, and software development company founded in 2008. It helps leading brands modernize B2B solutions, marketplaces, and retail ecosystems. Netguru offers application development services across industries such as fintech, healthcare, commerce, tourism, and robotics.

Must-Have:

• 7–10 years of engineering experience with a full-stack mindset.
• 2–3 years leading engineering teams including Tech Leads.
• Hands-on production experience with LLM-based systems (RAG, agents, fine-tuning, evaluation).
• Strong Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js background.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), and CI/CD.
• Experience supporting presales and proposal reviews in consulting or software house context.
• Familiarity with AI observability tooling (LangSmith, OpenTelemetry, Weights & Biases, or similar).
• Native Polish speaker.
• Communicative English (C1).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or custom agent architectures.
• Background in ML Engineering or data infrastructure.
• Experience scaling AI products from proof-of-concept to production at client scale.
• Familiarity with payments, logistics, or marketplace domains.
• Experience building communities of practice or running internal enablement programs.

Agentic & LLM Engineering:

• Lead and grow an AI engineering group (30+ engineers) including backend, ML, DevOps, and QA profiles.
• Define architecture standards for LLM-based products including RAG pipelines, agent orchestration, tool use, and evaluation frameworks.
• Set standards for production-grade AI systems covering observability, cost control, latency, safety, and reliability.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of AI systems from prototype to production and beyond.

Internal AI Adoption:

• Drive adoption of AI-powered developer tooling across Netguru teams (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, prompt engineering workflows).
• Build playbooks, run workshops, and lead by example to empower engineers.
• Measure adoption impact using DORA/SPACE metrics and human signals such as developer experience, cycle time, and rework.
• Build a library of reusable AI practices scalable across 100+ projects.

Presales & Feasibility:

• Act as the technical voice in deal reviews for AI/GenAI opportunities.
• Provide architecture options, risk assessments, and effort estimates for unknown domains.
• Challenge unrealistic scopes and propose alternatives to win trust and close deals.

AI Capability Building:

• Build Netguru's AI/GenAI competency roadmap including stacks, reference architectures, and integration patterns.
• Grow Tech Leads to independently own AI workstreams.
• Build communities of practice around LLM engineering, prompt engineering, and AI evaluation.
• Monitor team health including velocity, code quality, morale, rework rate, CI/CD, and test coverage.

English and Polish language skills are required.
