Automation Tester in Java

We are seeking a Quality Engineer specializing in automated testing with Java to join our remote team. The project involves developing and testing innovative applications for a global media client whose products are used by millions of users. You will be part of a team, working on solutions that leverage modern technologies and best practices in quality engineering.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or other technical discipline
• 3+ years of experience with software QA and automated testing in Java
• AI experience (agentic AI, Copilots, prompt engineering) is a strong plus
• Experience testing frontend applications, microservices, and/or serverless applications
• Practical experience testing REST APIs
• Ability to write SQL queries and test database migrations
• Experience with test and issue management tools (e.g., Jira, QMetry, TestRail)
• Familiarity with version control systems and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in cloud environments, especially AWS
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Independently and collaboratively test applications (automation and manual testing)
• Build test cases based on user stories and business requirements
• Program and debug automated tests (Java/Selenium, Typescript/Playwright)
• Test REST APIs and validate databases (SQL)
• Work closely with the Scrum team and participate in Test Driven Development
• Communicate with project teams to understand features and requirements
• Review and verify tests created by other team members
• Quickly and clearly report defects and progress
• Support troubleshooting of production issues
• Propose improvements to testing processes and tools
• Stay up to date with new technologies and testing tools
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore team members as needed
