Chapter Lead – DevOps Data & Cloud

Commerzbank is a leading international commercial bank with branches and offices in almost 50 countries. The company is transforming into a digital enterprise, working in inter-locational and international teams using agile methodologies. The role is within the "Corporate Clients Digital Channels" cluster, which advances digital channels for corporate clients and sales to provide modern customer experiences and 24/7 online access.

• High leadership skills.
• Strong people management skills.
• Technical expertise in cloud platforms (GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD practices, monitoring tools, and incident management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build alignment among diverse stakeholders.
• Good problem management, escalation, and stakeholder management skills.
• English language proficiency at C1 level (business language).

Leadership & People Management:

• Disciplinary leadership of the DevOps Chapter, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and development.
• Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational ownership.
• Coach and mentor DevOps engineers and develop future leaders.
• Form and develop a team of approximately 10-20 people with expertise in Cloud native / Data Science or AI technologies.

IT Modernisation & Technical Strategy:

• Drive IT modernisation initiatives including cloud-native architectures, CI/CD maturity, and automation.
• Contribute to the IT Modernisation Competence Center and re-architecture initiatives.
• Define and ensure DevOps standards and best practices.

Stable Operations & Reliability:

• Ensure reliable, secure, and compliant operation across DEV/TEST/PROD environments.
• Own incident, problem, and monitoring processes.
• Act as escalation point for critical production issues.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

• Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, and Chapter Leads.
• Actively contribute to cluster-level strategy and decision-making.
