Senior PHP Engineer (Cards Team)

Lendable is a UK-based fintech company with over 700 employees, profitable since 2017, and backed by investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs. The company has rebuilt major consumer finance products such as loans, credit cards, and car finance, aiming to expand into the UK and US markets with modern technology.

• Strong, business-oriented engineer with modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+ required)
• Solid grasp of a modern PHP framework such as Symfony or Laravel
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems, Event Sourcing, and CQRS
• Excellent automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional)
• Desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute ideas within a highly collaborative team
• High degree of ownership and autonomy

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and financial systems
• Experience experimenting with AI tooling to improve productivity
• Experience working in a cross-functional environment

• Take ownership across a broad remit, making decisions impacting Lendable's direction and success from day one
• Work in small, resourceful cross-functional product teams with a startup mindset
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to guide and agree on API behaviors and expectations through documented contracts
• Work closely with product stakeholders to agree on MVP requirements
• Support the initial build of a new mobile finance product for the Mexico expansion team
