Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Administrator (Azure + On-Prem)

Sybilla Technologies designs, builds, and operates robotic optical observatories for monitoring objects in space. They specialize in end-to-end systems and software for automated data acquisition, analysis, and scheduling across networks of sensors. Their work spans Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance & Tracking, Space Traffic Management, as well as stellar and planetary research, education, and commercial on-demand observations.

• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure / systems administration (senior-level, real responsibility)
• Strong networking fundamentals: VLANs, routing, DNS, VPNs, firewall thinking, certificates
• Solid experience with Microsoft 365 + Azure, including identity and access control
• Confidence in troubleshooting cross-layer problems (PC ↔ network ↔ identity ↔ cloud service)
• Ability to handle on-prem realities (hardware, storage, virtualization, backups)
• Advanced level of English to work with technical docs and communicate clearly
• Ability to be on-site within ~30 minutes of Bydgoszcz when needed

Nice to have:

• Microsoft Intune / MDM experience
• Kubernetes experience or strong container operations background
• Security mindset (hardening, audit readiness, basic SOC-style thinking)
• Experience with HA storage, iSCSI, and multi-site DR patterns

• Own the availability and security of core IT services, including networking, VPNs, DNS, identity, email, and access to internal resources
• Operate and continuously improve the Microsoft 365 and Azure environment, covering identity, access control (RBAC, Conditional Access, MFA), resource lifecycle, and cost hygiene
• Maintain and troubleshoot Exchange Online mail flow, spam and anti-phishing controls, and complex deliverability issues
• Administer network infrastructure based on MikroTik (routing, switching, VLANs) and VPN connectivity (site-to-site and remote access, including WireGuard)
• Troubleshoot complex issues end-to-end across network, identity, device, and service layers
• Maintain on-prem infrastructure: Hyper-V on Windows Server, Linux servers (Ubuntu), containerized workloads, and shared storage (HA setups, QNAP, iSCSI)
• Ensure reliable backups and recovery using Veeam, including retention policies, encryption, restore testing, and disaster recovery readiness
• Manage hardware lifecycle and health: servers, UPS, firmware updates, diagnostics, out-of-band access (including Supermicro platforms), and RMA coordination
• Support infrastructure across multiple locations (colocation and DR sites) as well as remote endpoints

• Ability to be on-site within ~30 minutes of Bydgoszcz when needed
