Principal Platform Engineer

Manufacturo is a SaaS company powering operations for companies building satellites, fusion reactors, next-generation aircraft, and hypersonic vehicles. Their clients include Hermeus, Relativity Space, and Sierra Space. The team includes former leaders from SpaceX and operates globally, focusing on advanced industrial manufacturing software.

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with deep mastery of C# and modern .NET
• Experience in Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Senior Tech Lead roles
• Proven experience architecting, building, and owning large, complex systems end-to-end including monolithic and distributed architectures
• Expert-level SQL and database design skills including diagnosing slow queries and designing schemas for real load
• Deep practical expertise with Entity Framework including performance tradeoffs and data access strategy
• Strong architectural judgment with experience applying DDD and clean architecture pragmatically
• Strong quality mindset including test automation strategy and clear standards for "done"
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Enthusiasm for and hands-on proficiency with AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure at scale, especially Azure
• Experience with Angular or modern frontend frameworks for architectural decisions
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline design at organizational level
• Experience designing for compliance-driven deployment constraints (data sovereignty, tenant isolation, schema management)
• Background or curiosity about Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

Core platform architecture:

• Lead a structured remediation of core platform architecture to reduce coupling and establish clear service boundaries
• Build the foundation for AI-native capabilities
• Rapidly assess the current state of the codebase and produce a prioritized architectural roadmap within the first 90 days
• Own the architecture and technical direction of the platform’s core
• Tackle the hardest engineering problems including performance bottlenecks, complex integrations, and architectural evolution
• Define and evolve backend engineering standards across all teams
• Lead design reviews and author RFCs/ADRs for high-impact technical decisions
• Partner with Director of Software Engineering, Product, and engineering leadership to assess technical feasibility early, shape direction, and resolve tradeoffs
• Mentor senior engineers through code reviews, architecture workshops, pair programming, technical discussions, and tech talks
• Raise the quality bar across the backend through example, teaching, and clear standards
