Database Relatability Engineer

The Evidence and Devices Engineering team at Motorola Solutions Systems Polska is responsible for body cameras, vehicle cameras, and evidence management software used in public safety and enterprise applications worldwide. The team is based in Krakow and focuses on software engineering projects related to evidence management.

• Experience with SQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra
• Knowledge of Service Level Objectives (SLO)
• Experience with Prometheus
• Troubleshooting skills
• Experience supporting database incidents

Nice to have:

• Experience with Grafana
• Experience with Datadog

Performance Engineering:

• Analyze database performance
• Troubleshoot high-latency queries
• Assist development teams with schema design and query optimization

Reliability & Availability:

• Maintain high availability and reliability of database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Meet defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs)

Observability:

• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
• Proactively identify issues before they impact users

Disaster Recovery:

• Design and test backup strategies, failover mechanisms, migrations, and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity

Incident Response:

• Participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve production database incidents
• Conduct post-mortems to prevent recurrence
