Hitachi Energy is hiring for a Software Governance & Quality Specialist based in Krakow, Poland. The role focuses on improving software quality across multiple R&D product lines by defining quality standards and development lifecycle processes.


Wymagania

  • Solid grounding in software engineering or a closely related field with substantial professional experience in complex software development environments.
  • Ability to lead software quality improvement initiatives influencing multiple teams.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices including test automation, static code analysis, coding standards, design and implementation patterns, and metrics-driven quality management.
  • Practical experience introducing and promoting best practice tooling and methods across R&D teams.
  • Proven ability to conduct reviews and guide teams in systematic defect analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures.
  • Experience coaching team members and supporting cross-functional collaboration with development, test, and product teams.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while contributing to complex problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills to represent quality requirements clearly and influence stakeholders across product lines.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with enthusiasm for modern engineering methodologies and evolution of quality-related processes, tools, and metrics.

  • Define and drive initiatives to improve software quality in collaboration with R&D product lines.
  • Ensure product quality specifications align with corporate and customer standards.
  • Shape end-to-end software quality governance and development standards.
  • Coach software development teams and solve complex problems impacting multiple product lines.
  • Introduce, develop, and promote best coding practices, principles, and design patterns.
  • Drive improvements in software quality metrics development, implementation, and reporting.
  • Analyze software defects systematically and implement countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
  • Define minimum software quality requirements and update tool usage standards.
  • Establish standards for the software development life cycle across product lines.
  • Support implementation of test automation and static analysis tools.
  • Lead source code and design reviews.
  • Proactively identify quality risks in early development phases to prevent costly late-stage defects.
  • Act as a key driver for continuous improvement in software development processes and quality culture.
  • Bridge gaps between development, testing, and product management to ensure alignment on quality goals.
  • Scout and support adoption of modern tools and practices such as AI-powered coding assistance, low-code/no-code platforms, DevSecOps, cloud-native development, and sustainable software engineering.
