Software Engineer I, Back-end (Repayment Scheduling)

The Repayment Scheduling engineering team is a fully European engineering team distributed across Poland and Spain, building and owning the system that enables users to schedule automatic payments to pay back loans worth collectively over $30B each year, directly improving the financial lives of over 20 million people.

• Previous work or internship experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience using one of Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with building blocks of distributed systems and technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to take a simple problem or business scenario into a solution interacting with multiple software components, writing clear, well tested, and extensible code.
• Comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback through code reviews.
• Demonstrated ownership of personal growth, proactively seeking feedback.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

• Work on tasks that contribute to the team's projects and goals with team support.
• Collaborate proactively with team and stakeholders, creating visibility and dialog regarding risks and trade-offs.
• Balance speed and quality to meet business goals while protecting systems from downtime.
