Senior Backend Engineer - Breakout Prop

Breakout is a crypto-native prop trading platform backed by Kraken. • 7+ years of backend engineering experience (at least 3+ years in financial, metrics-driven, or high-performance systems)
• Highly skilled with C#, ASP.NET Core, and PostgreSQL
• Comfortable deploying and scaling applications in AWS
• Experience working on API platforms, real-time data pipelines, or metrics systems
• Understanding or curiosity about trading systems and cryptocurrency markets
• Ability to solve complex problems and build robust, scalable software

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, low-latency, and scalable back-end services and RESTful APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core
• Architect solutions for real-time financial data processing, trade surveillance, and portfolio analysis
• Build pipelines and data models to power metrics dashboards, risk reporting, and performance analytics
• Manage and optimize complex queries and schemas in PostgreSQL
• Integrate APIs with third-party systems to ensure data integrity and reliability
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to meet demanding uptime and latency requirements
• Implement security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption
