Product Designer (.NET Ecosystem)

JetBrains develops tools for the .NET ecosystem including Rider, ReSharper, profilers, and VS Code extensions, serving over 7 million monthly active .NET developers worldwide. The design team is small and embedded within the .NET ecosystem, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, QA, researchers, marketing managers, and technical writers.

• Strong product design craft, able to take a problem from research to polished UX.
• Fluency in Figma, capable of building complex prototypes.
• Comfort with technical complexity and willingness to learn.
• Systems thinking to design for ecosystem coherence.
• Independence in driving projects forward.
• Research capability including running user interviews and synthesizing findings.
• Basic coding literacy to understand developer workflows.
• Clear communication skills to explain reasoning and push back when needed.

Nice to have:

• Developer background or engineering mindset.
• Experience designing developer tools, technical products, or complex professional software.
• Opinions about how IDEs should work, backed by actual usage.

• Own the design process from early research through shipped pixels.
• Work across multiple products while maintaining ecosystem coherence.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and researchers to shape product direction.
• Conduct and participate in user research including interviews, usability testing, and design validation.
• Build in Figma with organized files and prototypes that communicate intent.
• Navigate complex technical domains and translate them into clear, usable experiences.
• Contribute to design system and pattern documentation.
• Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
