Senior Python Developer (IR-515)

Our client is a leading, BaFin-regulated German fintech providing institutional-grade "Crypto-as-a-Service" infrastructure. They build API-driven trading and custody layers that enable banks and asset managers to integrate digital assets into their offerings. The role involves working in a high-security, regulatory-first environment to develop scalable backend systems and financial integrations bridging traditional finance and the Web3 ecosystem.

• 5+ Years Python Expertise: Mastery of Python 3.x and high-performance frameworks like FastAPI or Django.
• KYC/Compliance Integration: Experience integrating identity verification providers (e.g., IDnow, Onfido, Sumsub) and managing automated onboarding workflows.
• System Architecture: Ability to design robust State Machines for user verification statuses and scalable microservices via Docker/Kubernetes.
• Data Security & GDPR: Deep understanding of handling PII, encryption, and secure API design within a regulated environment.
• Financial Backend Logic: Experience with asynchronous processing (Celery, RabbitMQ) and complex database management (PostgreSQL) for audit-ready financial systems.
• Regulated Fintech Background: Previous experience in a BaFin, FCA, or similar regulated environment is highly preferred.
• Experience in FinTech is preferable.

• Architect KYC Workflows: Design and maintain scalable, automated onboarding pipelines integrating with identity verification providers.
• Develop Core Services: Build high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI/Django) to handle sensitive financial data.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Implement and enforce strict data privacy standards (GDPR) and security protocols required by BaFin for PII handling.
• Optimize State Management: Manage complex user verification lifecycles, ensuring high reliability and accurate audit trails for compliance teams.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Product, Legal, and Compliance stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications.
• Maintain Technical Excellence: Lead code reviews, mentor mid-level engineers, and drive adoption of testing best practices and CI/CD automation.
• Scalable Infrastructure: Deploy and monitor microservices within a cloud-native environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and asynchronous task queues.
