Software Development Engineer II

The Apptio Mallard Team is developing the Cloudability MSP/CCB product, a scalable, performant, cloud-native FinOps solution running on AWS using a microservices architecture (backend and frontend). The team owns the entire product lifecycle from requirements clarification through design, implementation, production deployment, and support.

• 3+ years of experience working with web-based microservices.
• Demonstrated experience with end-to-end application development.
• Experience with Java, object-oriented programming, REST, relational databases, schema design, and SQL.
• Excellent communication skills, team collaboration, and critical thinking.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and asynchronous architectures.
• Experience with AWS or other public cloud technologies.
• Experience with ReactJS, JavaScript, and one or more modern JS UI frameworks.
• Experience with distributed source control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with Maven.
• Familiarity with a DevOps working model.

• Design and implement new features in a SaaS environment.
• Optimize and maintain existing code.
• Ensure software quality through testing and debugging.
• Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to meet user needs.
• Participate in on-call shifts as per the team's schedule.
