Lead Python Developer

Global financial institution seeking a Lead Python Developer for the Financial Engineering – Credit Risk team in Global Risk Analytics. The role is part of the Model Enablement team collaborating directly with credit risk modelers (Wholesale Credit Risk) to develop and maintain libraries and tools supporting model building processes.

• Strong commercial experience in Python application development and testing
• Experience leading a development team
• Knowledge of programming best practices (clean code, code review)
• Ability to write "pythonic" code and identify code smells
• Practical knowledge of Git
• Experience working in Agile environments (CI/CD is a plus)

Nice to have:

• Higher education (MSc/PhD) in technical fields
• Knowledge of risk analytics, especially credit risk
• Experience with libraries: NumPy, pandas, SciPy, polars, Matplotlib
• Experience working with large datasets (e.g., PySpark)
• Experience creating open source libraries or projects
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins

• Develop and maintain Python libraries supporting credit risk modeling
• Collaborate with modelers to ensure correct and efficient use of tools
• Collect feedback and develop toolkit functionalities
• Write tests and maintain code quality
• Participate in solution and architecture design
• Potentially manage a team of developers and project portfolio
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, including non-technical ones

Position located in Kraków with hybrid work model (6 days per month in office)
