Automation Test Engineer (hybrid in Kraków)

People More is a technology company working on projects for a large client base domestically and internationally. They build projects from scratch or support partners' solutions, covering UX, UI, frontend, backend, and mobile development. The company works directly with clients worldwide.

Automation & engineering:

• Hands-on experience building automation in Java with clean code, OOP, and design patterns.
• Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as JUnit/TestNG, Cucumber/BDD (optional), Selenium/Playwright (UI), REST Assured, Postman/Newman, SoapUI (API), Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins/GitLab CI/Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of test automation best practices including maintainability, flakiness reduction, parallel execution, and environment resilience.
• Familiarity with observability and diagnostics tools like logs, tracing, monitoring (Splunk/ELK), and basic SQL.

Payments domain:

• Working knowledge of payment processing concepts and lifecycles: initiation, validation, enrichment, screening, routing, settlement, reconciliation/returns.

• Familiarity with payment standards and formats such as ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX, and local clearing formats.

• Understanding of operational and risk considerations including sanctions screening, auditability, resiliency, and high availability.

• Very good English and Polish language skills.

• Willingness to work 2 days a week at the client's office in Kraków.

• Design, develop, and support automated testing solutions in Java for user interfaces, APIs, and integration layers using suitable automation frameworks.
• Convert business and functional payment requirements into comprehensive automated test scenarios, including end-to-end, corner, and negative cases.
• Deliver test automation for payment domains such as credit transfers, direct debits, SWIFT and ISO 20022 messaging, payment gateways, validation, routing logic, and accounting/posting processes.
• Build and maintain API- and service-level automated tests (REST/SOAP), including schema, contract, and interface validations.
• Verify payment processing rules including cut-off handling, value dating, fees, FX processing, limits, sanctions, AML integration, returns, recalls, reversals, rejects, repairs, and exceptions.
• Define and apply test data management approaches including synthetic dataset creation, data masking, seeding, and transaction correlation across systems.
• Embed automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines with unattended runs, reporting, and quality gates.
• Investigate test failures by analyzing logs, message flows, and database data where allowed; report defects with documented evidence.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and Operations on acceptance criteria, testing strategy, and release readiness.
• Maintain and evolve test documentation including automation coverage, traceability matrices, execution results, and quality metrics dashboards.

• Willing to work 2 days a week at the client's office in Kraków.
