Senior Consultant- Software Engineer

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years with an Advanced Degree or 2 years with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
• Preferred: 9+ years with a Bachelor Degree or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree or 3+ years with a PhD.
• 10 years of software development experience with a Bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years with an Advanced Degree.
• Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required; MS or other advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in application services development for large scale systems.
• Experience with web services standards and related technologies (HTTP, HTTP2, Spring, XML, JSON, REST, WS*, AXIS, JERSEY).
• Expert in Java with experience in REST APIs, distributed systems, and container-based technologies.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance development efficiency and mentor peers.
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka.
• Solid understanding of database technologies and SQL.
• Exposure to Non-SQL database technologies.
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to respond resourcefully to new demands.
• Strong work ethic focused on organizational goals.
• Proven experience as a technical leader with ability to architect, design and build solutions independently.
• Passion to work with people and mentor team members.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Understanding of end-to-end systems and strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.
• Preferred experience in payments integration, online ecommerce shopping, or payment gateways.

• Design and implementation of enterprise software for the tokenization platform.
• Coordinate and manage input from business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise.
• Design and execution of large-scale enterprise technology initiatives.
• Work as a member of Agile Scrum teams.
• Fill product backlog and deliver production-ready code.
• Work effectively with product managers, program managers, architects, service integrators and cross-functional teams across the globe.
• Support initiatives that span multiple geographies enabling acceptance of Visa in consumer payments.
• Drive technical ideas and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Engage in technical design of solutions based on use cases and business requirements.
• Complete proof of concepts and technical evaluations of technologies, designs, and solutions.
• Drive development, review, and approval of technical designs, code reviews, and other engineering deliverables.
• Use AI tools to improve development speed, quality, and efficiency, and coach peers on their integration.
• Interact with internal teams to develop solutions to complex technical issues.
• Analyze current solution architecture and propose solutions to increase business value, optimize performance, and enhance quality.
• Adhere and contribute to best practices, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
• Communicate and present complex technical concepts to peers.
• Mentor other developers.
• Ensure inclusion of Visa’s business vision, current business environment, and technology and industry trends to drive business results.

This is a hybrid position based in Warsaw, Poland. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager.
