Senior Data Engineer

The company aims to become the leading home improvement company and grow the largest community of home improvers in the world. The Kraków office offers a blend of working from home and office.

• Strong engineering background with experience in developing and maintaining large-scale distributed data processing systems.
• Extensive knowledge of data modelling principles, data quality assurance, testing methodologies, and best practices for data access and storage.
• Strong command of data scripting languages including Python, SQL, and PySpark.
• Experience with Azure Databricks and DBT for building and optimising data pipelines and workflows.
• Experience implementing cloud data solutions on at least one major cloud provider (Azure or GCP).
• Knowledge of shortening development lead time and improving data development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working within Agile delivery frameworks.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).

• Responsible for end-to-end development on the data platform, including test development to ensure service delivery.
• Provide an end-to-end, full stack data expertise from design to build.
• Develop and mentor junior team members.
• Input into design and architectural decisions.
• Provide direction to data engineers on best practices, review, and testing processes.
• Provide engineering support to data engineering resources within delivery squads.
• Ensure proper onboarding and mentoring of data engineering resources.
• Update job knowledge by studying tools, programming techniques, and participating in educational opportunities.
• Collect, analyse, and summarise development and service issues.
• Support and develop data engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
