Senior Python Developer

MERIXSTUDIO is hiring a Senior Python Developer to build scalable, high-quality software with a focus on architecture, maintainability, and security within a microservices environment. The role involves collaboration, problem-solving, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to deliver real value to clients.

• Extensive commercial experience in Python development (3.10+)
• Proficiency in more than one Python framework
• Practical experience with Domain-Driven Design and Clean Architecture
• Strong async Python skills
• Experience with MongoDB schema design and aggregation pipelines
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
• Experience building secure and efficient APIs
• Experience with event-driven architectures and Kafka or similar
• Disciplined testing practice including integration tests
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants
• Proficiency with Docker and docker-compose
• Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, ECS, SQS, S3, Lambda)
• Experience with CI/CD tools
• Practical knowledge of Celery and message brokers (Redis, RabbitMQ)
• Knowledge of application security (OWASP, SAST, Semgrep)

• Develop web applications using Python (3.10+) and multiple Python frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI, etc.)
• Apply Domain-Driven Design and Clean Architecture in production
• Utilize strong async Python skills including asyncio, async/await, and async testing patterns
• Write fully type-hinted Python code
• Design schemas and aggregation pipelines for MongoDB
• Use relational and non-relational databases effectively
• Build modern, secure, and efficient APIs
• Work with event-driven architectures and Kafka or comparable streaming platforms
• Maintain disciplined testing practices including integration tests against real infrastructure
• Use design patterns and principles for high quality, maintainable, and testable code
• Work with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)
• Use Docker and docker-compose
• Utilize AWS services (EC2, ECS, SQS, S3, Lambda)
• Use CI/CD tools
• Work with Celery and message brokers (Redis, RabbitMQ)
• Ensure application security following OWASP, SAST, Semgrep guidelines

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with TDD / DDD approach
• Experience with WebSocket-based real-time systems
• Mentoring skills and onboarding junior/mid developers
