Software Engineer 1 (Java / Kotlin)

Join the Recommendation team at Allegro, working on building tools for recommendations on one of the most visible products on the platform. The team collaborates closely with the Machine Learning team to create the best experience for customers, focusing on high performance and engineering best practices.

• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java
• Knowledge of AI and Python
• Experience with BigQuery and Apache Spark for offline data processing
• English language skills at least at B2 level
• Willingness to develop soft skills and a full-stack mindset
• Openness to using AI coding assistants
• Desire to constantly develop and update knowledge
• Interest in ML Engineering and serving ML models

• Code in Kotlin or Java and participate in a greenfield project to master Kotlin
• Engage in high-quality code reviews and discussions on software engineering best practices
• Build new products and experience launching fresh projects within the Allegro ecosystem
• Develop soft skills and explore a full-stack mindset by learning backend, frontend, and mobile technologies
• Incorporate AI coding assistants into daily work to maximize efficiency and focus on complex problem-solving
• Find effective solutions to user requirements
• Serve ML models using Python and handle large-scale offline data processing using BigQuery and Apache Spark
• Build infrastructure for serving ML models and integrate components with microservices architecture to create sophisticated recommendation systems
