Sr. Staff Software Engineer

• Extensive experience in software development, including building backend services in a professional environment
• Deep and expert knowledge of software design patterns, API design, and the software development lifecycle
• Proven ability to influence technical direction and contribute to the architecture of complex, distributed systems handling data at scale
• Understanding of REST, service-based architecture, and distributed systems
• Rapid learner with robust analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Curiosity and ability to handle complexity
• Track record of mentoring other engineers and collaborating effectively within a team of senior peers
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Experience building services with Java, SQL and AWS
• Experience with Elasticsearch is a nice-to-have
• Demonstrable knowledge of using AI in a professional engineering environment
• Interest or experience in the financial industry or wealth management in particular

• Define technology roadmaps and engineering standards; drive adoption with the team and across Addepar
• Design, develop, and implement robust API services to support the rapidly growing European customer base
• Research and drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices to drive innovation
• Analyse and dive deep into a complex and powerful ecosystem, understanding requirements, determining optimal approaches and driving change
• Mentor, coach, and empower other engineers, contributing to an inclusive and high-performing team culture
• Amplify technical ability by empowering peers and contributing to code reviews and technical designs
• Proactively identify, prioritize and propose remediation for tech debt
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across the entire application stack
• Collaborate effectively with other engineers, product managers and stakeholders
• Be part of a high-performing, cross-functional team
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
