Infrastructure Software Engineer

As an Infrastructure Software Engineer at Dropbox, you will build robust systems supporting flagship products and future engineering innovations, optimizing user experiences, scalability, and data integrity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle challenges impacting millions of users and contribute to the technological backbone of the platform.

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Demonstrated experience in building and managing large-scale, multi-threaded, and geographically distributed backend systems.
• Proficient in programming and debugging in languages such as Python, Go, C/C++, or Java.
• Experience working with operating system internals, filesystems, databases, networks, and compilers.
• Ability to independently execute tasks at hand.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Semaphores and Mutexes.

• Build infrastructure capable of managing metadata for hundreds of billions of files, handling hundreds of petabytes of user data, and facilitating millions of concurrent connections.
• Assist in expanding Dropbox's role as the data-fabric, linking hundreds of millions of applications, devices, and services worldwide.
• Measure and optimize Dropbox's analytics platform to maintain its status as one of the most advanced in the industry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and implement solutions enhancing performance, reliability, and security of Dropbox's infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call work occasionally to address bugs, outages, or operational issues to maintain a stable and high-quality customer experience.
