Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (Servicing International)

The role involves close collaboration with European and global engineering teams to build scalable solutions and define Affirm's presence worldwide.

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, or similar backend languages.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to building web apps with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with elegant, simple, and extensible design.
• Proficient in making significant changes in large code bases safely.
• Takes ownership of personal growth and proactively seeks feedback.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team.
• Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics.
• Participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on decisions considering risks and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues and lead in solving them.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards.

• Develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.
