VMWARE VRA Specialist (automation)

• Strong hands-on experience with VMware Aria Orchestrator (vRO): workflows, actions, and inventory/items.
• Ability to read and analyse JavaScript used inside vRO workflows; able to make minor modifications when required.
• Experience developing custom vRO actions and/or workflows.
• Ability to test workflow logic (conditions, error handlers, input/output parameters) and navigate complex workflow chains and dependencies.
• Experience with vRO REST plugin, HTTP integrations, and external APIs.
• Experience with VMware vRA Service Broker: catalog items, request execution, outcome validation, and troubleshooting request errors.
• Experience validating integrations between Service Broker requests and underlying vRO workflows.
• Solid functional testing experience and ability to create structured defect reports and test documentation.
• Working experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and basic Git usage.
• PowerShell skills sufficient to read and understand external script code.
• Experience working with REST APIs and tools such as Postman and/or curl (or equivalents).
• Knowledge of JSON.
• Linux user-level skills for logs review, basic commands, and diagnostics.

• Experience testing automation or integration platforms.
• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure principles.
• Experience with logging and monitoring systems.
• Experience with SQL databases (MSSQL, Postgres).
• Experience with vault security platforms (Cyberark, Bitwarden etc.).
• Experience with ITSM systems (BMC Helix).

• Execute full-cycle testing of vRO workflows (functionality, logic, and error handling).
• Test automation processes delivered through VMware vRA Service Broker.
• Verify correct execution and outcomes of service requests submitted via Service Broker.
• Analyse vRO runs, diagnose issues, and prepare detailed defect reports.
• Create and maintain test documentation (test cases, checklists, test plans).
• Test REST API integrations with external services.
• Collaborate with automation engineers, developers, and DevOps teams to resolve identified issues.
