Virtualization Engineer

Long-term project delivered for a European Union organization based in Warsaw.

• EU Security Clearance required: at least RESTREINT UE / EU RESTRICTED, valid from the first day of assignment
• English language proficiency level B2, confirmed by a recognized certificate (support to obtain if not available)
• Experience in administration of complex and large virtual environments (such as VMware vSphere or Nutanix)
• Experience with virtual environments’ monitoring tools (such as VMware Aria Operations)
• Experience updating and upgrading virtual environments and related products
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
• Experience in collaborating with multiple support groups
• Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL based change management, configuration management and release management processes
• Good organizational and prioritising skills
• A proactive attitude, team-work spirit, being self-motivated with a strong user orientation
• Good communication skills
• Able to cope with fast changing technologies
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, including at least 2 years as Virtualization Engineer
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of higher education (verified by a diploma)
• Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure certificate (NCP-MCI)
• Experience with VMware vSAN
• Experience with HPE SAN Storage arrays (e.g., HPE Primera)
• VMware VCP-DCV 6.X or higher or related similar certificate

• Administering the virtual computing environment (such as VMware vSphere)
• Administering monitoring solutions for virtual environments
• Patch management
• Managing backups and restores
• Administering, supporting, and monitoring of hardware servers, fibre optic fabrics and data storage
• Troubleshooting of virtual environments
• Tuning, optimizing and capacity planning
• Recommending and implementing best practices and security standards
• Updating the technical documentation and operating procedures
• Implementing changes according to ICT change management procedures
• Providing 2nd line support to other IT teams and coordinating with 3rd line of support
• Participation in coordination and project meetings
• Other specific duties aligned to profile as assigned by supervisor

• EU Security Clearance required: at least RESTREINT UE / EU RESTRICTED, valid from the first day of assignment
• On-site service provision primarily in Warsaw with possible intra-EU locations
• Consultant must be able to arrive at premises within 4 calendar days if additional presence is requested
• On-call duty covers readiness periods with additional compensation for interventions
