VFX Artist

Rustic Roost Studio is a co-development branch of Donkey Crew, working on titles within the Snail Games USA portfolio, including projects spanning realistic sci-fi, fantasy medieval, and more, all built on Unreal Engine.

• 3+ years of experience as a professional VFX Artist in the video game industry (PC/console preferred).
• Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine 5 (Niagara, Materials, Blueprints).
• Solid understanding of real-time rendering, optimization, and particle behavior.
• Strong artistic eye for motion, color, composition, and timing.
• Experience creating and maintaining master-materials.
• Portfolio or demo reel showcasing in-game, real-time effects.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Bonus skills:

• Proficiency in secondary DCC tools like Blender, Houdini, EmberGen, or Substance Designer.
• Experience with both stylized and realistic art styles.
• Familiarity with advanced Material development.
• Background in open-world or multiplayer projects.

• Design and implement high-quality real-time VFX using Unreal Engine 5 (Niagara, materials, blueprints).
• Collaborate with artists, animators, and designers to ensure VFX integrates seamlessly into gameplay and environments.
• Prototype and iterate on effects that support gameplay clarity, mood, and visual impact.
• Create effect-related master-materials and textures, and optimize VFX and particle systems for performance and scalability.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, proposing new techniques and tools to elevate VFX.
• Provide accurate task estimates, manage priorities, and deliver to project milestones.
