Developer Experience Lead (JetBrains Cloud Platform)

JetBrains is evolving beyond standalone developer tools toward a unified, AI-native platform for software development. The platform aims to enable companies to adopt AI in software development in a structured, scalable, and economically efficient manner without locking them into closed ecosystems. It connects developer workflows, team-level collaboration, and organizational control into a single coherent system, serving as the execution and governance layer for AI-driven development.

• Extensive experience with build systems such as Gradle, Maven, or Bazel and a track record of optimizing them at scale.
• Strong expertise in CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Jenkins, or similar, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized development workflows.
• Understanding of the full software development life cycle and ability to reason about developer productivity holistically.
• Ability to drive cross-team initiatives and influence engineering practices across a large organization.
• Motivation to make other engineers more productive and remove friction from their daily work.

• Experience improving developer experience at scale in a platform or infrastructure organization.
• Experience working on AI-driven development pipelines.
• Expertise in build caching, remote execution, and incremental build strategies.
• Contributions to or maintenance of open-source build tooling or CI/CD infrastructure.
• Enjoyment in diagnosing performance problems and improving slow, flaky processes into fast, reliable ones.

• Own and drive the strategy for developer experience improvements across the entire JetBrains Cloud Platform (JCP).
• Optimize build systems (Gradle, Nx, and others) for faster builds, better caching, and reliable reproducibility at scale.
• Set up AI development pipelines, managing context, agents, and handoffs, leveraging tools developed within the JCP.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines by reducing build times, increasing reliability, optimizing resource usage, and shortening feedback loops across TeamCity and GitHub.
• Improve containerized development workflows (Docker, Dev Containers) to ensure fast and consistent local environments.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the development cycle from code commit to production deployment.
• Establish best practices, tooling standards, and shared infrastructure to enable all teams to move faster.
• Collaborate with platform and product teams to understand pain points and deliver high-impact improvements.
