Operations Engineer

Keepit is a company providing SaaS cloud-based backup services globally. Their platform offers immutable, historical data archives for systems such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Entra ID, Dynamics 365, and Zendesk. The backend components are primarily written in C++ and Common Lisp, running on Linux. They focus on backing up billions of objects over imperfect networks with performance, reliability, and predictability.

• Strong knowledge of Linux systems
• Good understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, NAT, VLANs, Firewalls (nftables)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong command-line proficiency
• Experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code, preferably Ansible and AWX
• Familiarity with the Grafana LGTM stack (Grafana, Mimir, Loki, Prometheus) is highly desirable
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to solve problems independently
• Self-discipline, creativity, and motivation for continuous learning
• Good verbal and written English skills (minimum B2 level)

Nice to have:

• Experience with Debian/Ubuntu environments
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL (administration, basic performance tuning, backups)
• Experience with Pacemaker / Corosync high-availability clustering
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and ISAE 3402 standards
• CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge

• Implement and monitor logging, alerting, and monitoring to ensure system health, performance, and reliability
• Develop and extend automation tooling to improve operational efficiency
• Provide support for hardware and software systems
• Maintain and update documentation for daily operations and procedures
• Deploy, operate, and maintain Linux systems in a data center environment
• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident root cause analysis
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve system stability, reliability, and performance
• Collaborate closely with the security team to design and implement new security solutions
• Support system upgrades, patching, and security updates across the infrastructure
• Contribute to capacity planning and performance optimization of infrastructure systems

This role requires adherence to a shift work schedule: four working days of 10 hours each followed by three days off (40 hours per week). The team operates 24/7, including holidays, with the possibility to trade shifts with colleagues.
