Data Center Technician

As a Microsoft Data Center Technician (DCT), you will stage, set up and perform hardware deployments, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and hardware decommissions following Standard Operating Procedures. You will work within Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) group, supporting core infrastructure for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Azure. The role involves working in a global portfolio of over 200 Data Centers in 32 countries, supporting services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• Relevant experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Ability to be on-site; own form of transport advised due to limited public transport.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
• SEP (Stowarzyszenie Elektryków Polskich) electrical certification in Poland is an asset.

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, identify causes of issues, and replace faulty components with minimal disruption.
• Perform post-execution quality checks ensuring grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling comply with safety protocols and deployment standards.
• Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures.
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate data center operations management, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
• Assist and provide guidance to other technicians for challenging or complex tasks.
• Complete required training aligned to the role and workload; gain hands-on experience through observation and on-the-job training.
• Contribute to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information, participating in meetings, and staying informed of team status.
• Take accountability for service quality, completeness, and user experience; own the data center facilities.
• Embody Microsoft's culture and values.

This role requires on-site presence in Warsaw, Poland, with limited public transport access; own transport is advised.
