Activation Manager

The Activation Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end data product lifecycle within the Data Security Office (DSO), managing risk assessments, classification, and validation of controls from initial intake to final certification.

• Ability to adhere to structured methodologies consistently.
• Sharp pattern recognition skills to identify risk triggers.
• Strong analytical writing skills to communicate technical logic clearly.
• Skilled in evidence appraisal and providing constructive feedback.
• Comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholder levels.
• Consultative approach focused on enabling progress rather than enforcing barriers.

Methodological Rigor & Analysis:

• Execute tasks within a structured methodology consistently.
• Recognize when a project follows a standard pattern and escalate outliers to the IDE Lead.
• Identify "red flag" triggers such as client data usage or AI integration within complex intake documentation.

Communication & Documentation:

• Translate technical classification logic into clear, non-jargon narratives understandable to stakeholders outside the DSO.
• Evaluate documentation against strict criteria and provide constructive feedback to reach compliance.

Relationship Management:

• Navigate a wide range of stakeholders, from senior executive sponsors to software engineers, balancing diplomacy with technical clarity.
• Provide a consultative approach focused on enabling teams to move faster with confidence.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Manage the full intake-to-certification workflow, ensuring data products meet security and compliance milestones.
• Apply standardized risk-tiering methodologies to categorize data products and identify triggers for specialist reviews.
• Maintain and update the DSO pattern library to ensure consistent classification artifacts.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews of evidence to determine if control requirements are satisfied and provide final certification decisions.
• Serve as a strategic technical and procedural advisor for data product teams, bridging engineering and risk management.
