Mechanical Engineer & Python Expert - Freelance AI Trainer

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of research, applied, or teaching experience.
• Proficiency in Python for writing reference solutions.
• Fluency with or strong willingness to learn at least one scriptable mechanical engineering package such as Cantera, CoolProp, CalculiX, OpenFAST, YADE, or similar.
• Ability to design problems requiring specialized solvers.
• Strong written English proficiency (C1+).

Nice to have:

• Prior experience with the listed tools is welcome but not required if ready to learn independently.

• Design computational engineering problems to challenge a frontier AI model using specialized tools like Cantera, CoolProp, CalculiX, OpenFAST, or others.
• Write Python reference solutions, supply input files and geometry or mechanism definitions.
• Decide the numerical answer and define domain-appropriate tolerance for correctness.
• Test problems against the AI model in batches, tuning difficulty to achieve a pass rate of 10–30%.
• Collaborate with a senior reviewer in the subfield to ensure task quality.
• Calibrate problems by rewriting thermodynamic cycles, tightening material models and boundary conditions, and analyzing agent behavior.
