Senior Data Science Analyst - OptimusAI

OptimusAI is part of McKinsey’s manufacturing AI solution, combining expertise from Global Energy and Materials, QuantumBlack (AI by McKinsey), and Operations. The team of about 10 consultants, data scientists, and engineers focuses on improving processing plant productivity through data analytics, developing real-time AI advisory systems, optimizing process control, and unlocking plant bottlenecks. The role is based in Wrocław and involves collaboration with client process engineers and analytics specialists, as well as product engineers internally.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in advanced analytics, ideally in heavy industry.
• Advanced Python programming skills with emphasis on clean, efficient, modular, and maintainable code.
• Proven ability to implement and maintain MLOps pipelines for model integration and deployment.
• Strong DevOps and backend engineering skills, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Self-starter with excellent organizational abilities.
• Skilled in rational, data-driven decision making.
• Ability to create high-quality work products such as presentations, models, and articles.
• Exceptional time management skills for autonomous work.
• Willingness to work outside traditional hours and take on short-notice projects.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English, adaptable to different audiences and seniority levels.

• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team of 3–6 experts to drive client performance in energy efficiency, product quality, and capacity.
• Work side-by-side with client process engineers and analytics specialists, presenting insights to executive audiences.
• Partner with product engineers to develop innovative products and algorithms addressing client needs.
• Codify best practices and shape the product roadmap.
• Support a global community of consultants by developing a machine learning toolkit and codifying approaches.
• Benefit from training in business problem structuring and client advisory.
• Travel to client sites locally and internationally.
