Senior Data Architect

scandiweb is an international company working in retail and e-commerce sectors, focusing on data architecture and engineering leadership with cloud platform design and delivery.

• 5+ years in data architecture, engineering leadership, or analytics engineering.
• Experience designing and shipping at least three cloud platforms, ideally in retail or e-commerce.
• Production experience across the data stack, with deep expertise in at least one tool per category.
• Practical understanding of ML, GenAI, and AI agents requirements including feature stores, embeddings, vector databases, RAG, semantic layers, governance, and lineage.
• Working knowledge of BI and activation including dimensional modeling, semantic layers, CDPs, identity resolution, consent management, and downstream activation into ad, CRM, and personalization tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineers and executives, defend architecture decisions, run workshops, and challenge assumptions.
• Use AI coding assistants actively for generating SQL, dbt, Python, reviewing designs, and drafting documentation.
• Confident spoken and written English.

• Lead architecture during discovery by translating each client's business model, KPIs, and AI goals into a target-state design and implementation plan.
• Stay on as the design owner during build, reviewing pipelines, models, and BI work from data and analytics engineers, and unblocking the team when they hit hard calls.
• Architect AI-ready data foundations including semantic layers, feature stores, vector databases, and embeddings pipelines for ML models, GenAI apps, and AI agents.
• Design end-to-end cloud platforms for retail clients covering ingestion, storage, transformation, modeling, BI, and CDP.
• Build engineering rigor by default with automated pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, testing, and observability to improve platform reliability and cost over time.
• Co-sell with Business Developers, Key Account Managers, and Strategists by shaping proposals, defending estimates, and presenting architectures to client stakeholders ranging from skeptical CTOs to non-technical executives.
