Senior Software Engineer - Frontend - Pro

Kraken is a mission-focused company rooted in crypto values, aiming to accelerate the global adoption of crypto for financial freedom and inclusion. It is a fully remote company with employees in 70+ countries, developing premium crypto products such as Kraken Pro, Desktop, Wallet, and Kraken Futures. The Pro team is responsible for trading backend services including matching engine, market data gateways, and APIs, working globally with various tech stacks and agile methodologies.

• 6+ years of experience in software development focused on web applications
• Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and proficiency with React ecosystem
• Strong experience in API design, security, and performance optimization
• Experience with Next.js and WebSockets
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tooling
• Strong understanding of UI/UX best practices and principles
• Experience within a large technology organization or fast-growing startup
• Hands-on experience in consumer payments, crypto, or fintech mobile applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality applications using React
• Set the standard for high-quality code and lead complex software systems development
• Significantly influence technical decisions, contribute to technical strategy discussions, and shape product/domain decisions
• Mentor junior and senior engineers and provide constructive feedback
• Master multiple technologies and stay ahead of new tools and trends
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and fault-tolerant systems with deep understanding of architecture and design patterns
• Lead and collaborate on complex initiatives, driving feedback and growth across teams
• Drive process improvements and lead by example with advanced experience in multiple software development processes
