Senior Software Engineer, Device Security

• 10+ years of experience in backend development, including leading significant technical initiatives.
• Experience with mission-critical systems, ideally in identity, authentication, OAuth, or access control.
• Proficient in writing clean, maintainable Java code.
• Experience operating large-scale distributed systems with high uptime and security expectations.
• Comfortable mentoring engineers and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
• Experience with enterprise security or authentication domains.
• Familiarity with zero trust models and device security posture management.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with PHP, TypeScript, and React.
• Prior experience working on internal platforms or systems requiring high reliability and compliance.

• Design, build, and maintain mission-critical enterprise software enforcing trusted access to Box from client devices and platforms like Web, Mobile, and Desktop.
• Lead development of software components in authentication and secure access domain, ensuring resilience, performance, and security.
• Build and own key services end-to-end, including architecture, design, implementation, and deployment.
• Ensure high system availability and performance through observability, alerting, and on-call support.
• Drive architectural discussions and guide evolution of Box's security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and security teams to deliver secure device management and access control capabilities over multiple-quarter initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to and triage issues.

Boxers are expected to work from their assigned office a minimum of 3 days per week, focusing on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
