AI Software Engineer

At the Data Center Group (DCG), Intel delivers Xeon-based and custom x86-based solutions for general-purpose compute, web services, HPC, and AI-accelerated systems. The group focuses on business strategy, product management, ecosystem development, financial performance, and x86 leadership to transform the data center segment.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience analyzing and optimizing software using Python to improve performance and resolve bottlenecks.
• 1+ years experience using transformers and large language models in PyTorch with understanding of LLM architecture.
• 1+ years experience using RedHat OpenShift or Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Cloud Service Providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience developing, optimizing performance, and integrating LLM.
• Experience with model serving tools vLLM, Sglang.

Additional Plus Qualifications:

• Experience with virtualization and Linux containers.
• Experience in customer collaboration.
• Understanding of effective hardware memory usage.

Education Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field plus 5 years industry experience, OR
• Master's degree in related field plus 3 years industry experience, OR
• PhD in related field plus 1 year industry experience.

• Work with internal engineering teams, partners, and strategic customers to deliver optimized AI solutions using Intel products.
• Analyze and characterize customers' AI workloads and deliver Best Known Configuration (BKC) for optimal performance on Intel.
• Research technical trends and prototype AI software solutions including open source libraries and models.
• Develop and modify AI models, code, parameters, and quantization to enhance customer performance.
• Partner with AI framework engineers to optimize AI models for Intel hardware.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor and provide technical enabling for Strategic Customers.
• Collaborate with Intel software and hardware teams to accelerate and optimize future AI products.
• Deliver benchmark collateral and drive key workloads into product requirements.
