Data Scientist

The FCU Technology team at PwC Polska includes over 100 IT specialists. The team provides innovative technological solutions, data analytics, and consulting services for global PwC clients in the financial services industry, focusing on Anti Financial Crime areas such as Anti Money Laundering, Combating Terrorism Financing, Fraud Risk Management, FATCA, and financial sanctions implementation.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in data science or research & development.
• University degree, preferably in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Proficient knowledge of Python programming language.
• Familiarity with key Data Science and Machine Learning packages such as pandas, polars, scikit-learn, Keras, PyTorch, LightGBM.
• Knowledge of Generative AI concepts including prompt engineering, RAG, and AI agents.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Creative and critical thinking skills.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn about multiple business processes and disciplines.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge and experience in relational databases (SQL, data warehouse).
• Ability to create simple proof of concept applications in Python (Streamlit, Poetry).
• Interest in solving problems and addressing business challenges with Data and AI.
• Experience with Generative AI-based tools such as langchain, langgraph, Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI, or similar.
• Experience with MLOps/DevOps technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, REST API, CI/CD, Linux.
• Experience with Cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, or GCP preferred).

• Be part of the Data Science (R&D) team and manage data throughout its full lifecycle including research, exploration, preprocessing, development, integration, and implementation.
• Engage in brainstorming sessions and develop prototypes or proofs of concept using Data Science methods to address FinCrime-related challenges.
• Collaborate with other departments and clients to understand processes and develop tailored solutions.
• Create automation solutions based on AI agents, Generative AI models, and Machine Learning techniques.
• Contribute to the development of data science products from both technical (application backend, data pipelines) and sales perspectives (pricing, solution architectures, visual representation, key value drivers).
• Support junior and mid-level team members through mentoring and technical assistance.
• Participate in training, certifications, and conferences, including opportunities to speak.
• Work in an Agile environment alongside backend/frontend/low-code developers, DevOps, and business analysts.
