Backend Engineer

• Proficiency in Java/Kotlin for backend development.
• Hands-on experience working with cloud technologies, ideally AWS.
• Proven knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (ideally DynamoDB).
• Experience working with Kubernetes for infrastructure.
• Understanding of Apache Kafka.
• Strong skills in software design, clean coding, and automated testing.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Deliver high-quality product features in collaboration with the engineering team, contributing to improvements in lead time, deployment frequency, and production stability.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to design and implement effective technical solutions.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and backlog refinement.
• Collaborate with team members to estimate, plan, and deliver work aligned with business outcomes.
• Write clean, well-structured and tested code that meets established coding and quality standards.
• Contribute to Continuous Delivery practices, including regular and high-quality pull requests within the Secure SDLC.
• Support system reliability, performance and security by contributing to SLIs, SLOs, and production quality improvements.
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions with the wider engineering team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, following runbooks and escalating significant risks when needed.
• Continuously improve technical skills and contribute to improving the codebase and engineering practices.
