Senior Engineering Manager - Frontend - Pro

Kraken is a mission-focused company rooted in crypto values, dedicated to accelerating the global adoption of crypto to achieve financial freedom and inclusion. It is a fully remote company with employees in over 70 countries, developing premium crypto products for experienced traders, institutions, and newcomers. The Kraken Pro team is responsible for trading and markets across spot and futures, building the next generation of Kraken Pro’s trading interface.

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on frontend or full-stack development.
• 3+ years of experience leading and mentoring engineers (4–8 people) in a distributed environment.
• Deep experience with TypeScript and React, including React Native for mobile.
• Solid understanding of performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive UI design.
• Proven track record of collaborating effectively with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams.
• Passion for building delightful, high-quality user experiences in fast-moving, product-driven environments.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to backend technologies such as Rust, C++, Java, or Node.js.
• Previous experience in Trading, Crypto, and/or Fintech.

• Drive the design, architecture, and delivery of performant, modular, and accessible frontend systems.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to shape and deliver on the product roadmap.
• Champion user experience through hands-on engagement with dogfooding, feedback loops, and usability improvements.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and collaboration within a globally distributed team.
• Mentor and develop engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally.
• Guide initiatives that modernize the frontend stack, improve reliability, and enhance performance at scale.
