Senior Software Development Engineer

The Apptio Mallard Team is building the innovative Cloudability MSP/CCB product, a scalable, performant, cloud-native FinOps solution running on AWS using a microservices architecture (backend and frontend). The team owns the entire product lifecycle from requirements clarification through design, implementation, production deployment, and support.

• 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise-level software in Java.
• Experience with large scale, data-driven, web-based microservices.
• Professional experience with Java, object-oriented programming, REST, relational databases, schema design, and SQL.
• Ability to work with product management to clarify requirements.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and asynchronous architectures.
• Understanding of best SDLC practices including coding standards, reviews, code management, build processes, and testing.
• Experience with AWS and Snowflake.
• Experience with ReactJS, JavaScript, and one or more modern JS UI frameworks.
• Experience with Git and Maven.

• Design and implement new features in a SaaS environment.
• Optimize and maintain existing code.
• Ensure high-quality standards through thorough testing and debugging.
• Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to deliver solutions meeting user needs and non-functional requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotations according to the team’s schedule.
• Take ownership of significant portions of the team’s codebase and help shape the strategic direction of the project.
• Leverage modern AI tools to enhance productivity, code quality, and innovation.
