React Native Engineer

Little Engine is building the AI-native back office for solo service providers such as personal trainers, stylists, tutors, massage therapists, and dog walkers. Their mobile app automates scheduling, payments, and client communication entirely over SMS, replacing multiple tools with an intelligent assistant. The company has closed a multi-million dollar pre-seed round and includes repeat founders who have built and sold award-winning apps, including one of Apple’s Best Apps of the Year.

• Senior-level experience shipping production React Native apps to the App Store (typically 5+ years)
• Strong TypeScript and React fundamentals
• Comfortable reading and writing Swift native code
• Hands-on experience with Redux Toolkit, RTK Query, styled-components, and design-token-driven UI
• Fluent with react-native-reanimated 3, Gesture Handler, FlashList, and performance-regression tooling like Reassure
• Experience integrating Firebase and third-party SDKs such as Twilio and Stripe
• Comfortable with Xcode, CocoaPods, and CI/CD using GitHub Actions and Fastlane
• Comfortable working across a time-zone gap with a US-based product team

Nice to have:

• Real-time chat or audio/waveform processing experience
• Python and FastAPI experience sufficient to make small backend changes

• Build, ship, and maintain features in the mobile app from technical design through App Store release and production monitoring
• Own a slice of the product end-to-end: scope work with product, design implementation, ship it, and stay accountable for production behavior
• Work directly with the US-based product team in scoping conversations, push back on requirements, surface trade-offs early, and shape what gets built
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API design and make small FastAPI backend changes when needed
• Occasionally contribute to the web app (React.js) when features span platforms
• Build UI scaffolding for the designer, setting up screens, states, navigation, and data wiring
• Write Reassure benchmarks for performance-sensitive code, investigate regressions, and maintain app responsiveness
• Write and modify Swift code when required for native capabilities, debugging, or extending modules
• Integrate and maintain third-party SDKs including Twilio Voice, Stripe, Firebase, Vision Camera, and Maps
• Maintain codebase health including TypeScript strictness, design-token discipline, reusable selectors, and sensible component boundaries
