QA Automation Lead (Fitness Operations)

Vasa Fitness is a high-value, low-price fitness operator founded in 2014 and headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado. It operates 70+ locations across the U.S. offering a "mall of fitness" model with diverse amenities including strength, cardio, group fitness, studio classes, pools, and KidCare. The company is recognized as a Great Place to Work for four consecutive years and is expanding its locations. Coherent Solutions is leading a full greenfield rewrite of Vasa Fitness's Member Management System to support 300+ gym locations and millions of members, replacing third-party billing and check-in dependencies to give full ownership of member data and billing infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years quality engineering experience with 3+ years in lead, architect, or principal QA role on complex software platforms
• Experience defining QA strategy and selecting QA technology stacks for greenfield or rewrite projects
• Strong hands-on experience with modern end-to-end testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO) with deep knowledge of at least one
• Solid TypeScript proficiency for writing and reviewing automated test code
• Experience designing and operating AI-assisted QA processes using tools like Claude, Codex, Cursor
• Strong understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated test execution as deployment quality gate
• Experience with API testing including REST API, contract testing, webhook validation, and integration testing
• Experience designing data validation and migration testing including record reconciliation and billing continuity
• Experience with performance and load testing including tooling selection and scenario design
• Strong written communication skills for QA strategy documents and reports
• Excellent English communication skills and willingness to collaborate with client in MT timezone

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with billing and payment system QA including recurring billing, payment processor integrations, failed payment flows, dunning logic, and financial reconciliation
• Familiarity with Zuora, Chase Payment Solutions, Shopify POS integration testing
• Background in multi-tenant SaaS platform QA including role-based access control and data isolation
• Experience with contract testing tools such as Pact
• Familiarity with PCI DSS testing considerations
• Experience with mobile app testing frameworks for iOS and Android
• Background in fitness, gym management, multi-location retail, or gym operation systems is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end QA strategy including framework selection, tooling decisions, process standards, and team-wide adoption
• Evaluate, select, and implement QA technology stack including end-to-end testing frameworks, API testing tools, performance/load testing infrastructure, contract testing, and test data management
• Design and operate agentic QA process using AI tools to generate test cases, identify coverage gaps, produce test data, and accelerate test authoring
• Define acceptance criteria standards for user stories and workstreams
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipeline with pass/fail gates
• Design and execute data migration validation including record-level reconciliation and billing continuity
• Define and execute performance, load, and regression testing for key platform workflows
• Lead QA sign-off at delivery milestones with reports on defect status, coverage, risks, and release readiness
• Work with member management and billing engineers to identify edge cases and failure modes
• Mentor engineers on QA best practices and agentic test generation
• Document QA tooling decisions, rationale, and onboarding standards
