Rendering Engineer

Activision Central Technology group supports worldwide studios and focuses on research and development for video game franchises such as "Call of Duty". The Central Tech team includes specialties like graphics, big data, privacy and security, motion capture, build and infrastructure, optimization, systems programming, and online services. The group is distributed globally with offices in the U.S., Canada, England, and Ireland.

Experience:

• Expertise (both broad and deep) of real-time graphics
• Ability to effectively disseminate pertinent information across different functional groups within the organization
• Must have shipped at least 1 console/PC title, preferably AAA
• Experience with real-time graphics APIs and console/PC hardware
• Ability in optimization, debugging, and software architecture
• 4+ years of experience with C/C++ and relevant shading languages

Knowledge & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years working on tools or titles for the current generation of consoles or PC

• Investigate new research and development in the field and guide studios on potentially applicable advances
• Implement prototypes of innovative graphics technologies, tools, and workflows
• Work with studios to plan and implement integration of new features and technologies into production engines and pipelines
• Identify key innovations and associated risks early to allow adequate time for prototyping, implementation, and polish
• Work with first parties to help ensure the best possible performance from their graphics APIs
• Collate, author, and maintain Technical Design Documents
• Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of both ambition and conservatism when developing video games
